SINGING

SINGING – This group of singers performed last year in Christmas on Broadway at The Dixie.

The Dixie Performing Arts & Academic Enrichment Center will present their highly anticipated annual Christmas show, “A Christmas On Broadway” on Saturday, December 15 at 7 p.m.

“Christmas on Broadway” promises a most entertaining evening full of Broadway hits and Christmas favorites performed by a cast of local talent and favorites with this year’s holiday event featuring special guest, Paula Bridges.

Paula Bridges McGill is originally from Chicago but grew up in Camden. Paula began singing at the age of nine and knew, quickly, that it was her passion in life. Her love of music was instilled by her grandfather who would take her, and his guitar, all over this area to sing at schools, nursing homes, and different churches.

Paula continued her singing career in the band Paula and Arrow. After singing with this band she developed The Paula Bridges Band which she performed with for over 35 years. In this band she met her late husband, Chuck McGill, and father of her two daughters, Katie and Emily McGill.

During her professional career, Paula has worked as a recording artist singing demos for musicians including Brooks and Dunn, has opened the show for Paul Anka, and has performed with a long list of musicians including Jimmy Jameson of Survivor, The Cowsills, Dennis Tufano of The Buckinghams, Skip Martin of Kool and the Gang and Billy Joe Royal.

“I am excited to join the cast of ‘Christmas on Broadway’ and perform once again on the stage of the Dixie Carter Performing Arts and Academic Enrichment Center. I hope to see you at The Dixie,” said Paula.

Additional cast include: Hannah Ethridge, Meleah Gateley, Melissa Herris, Emily McGill, Katie McGill, Lauren Markowski, Aubrey Parker, Alexandra Wilegus, Zakkeus Bonds, Garrett Burns, Lee Carter, Charleston Croom, Blair Ecker, Wayne Bannister, Bryan Kenton, and Hayden Nichols.

The show is directed by Aubrey Doyle. Keith Herris serves as musical director and band members are Keith Herris, piano; Danny Ray Martin, guitar; John Buteyn, bass; DJ Culp Jr., drums.
