CHECK OUT — Kelvin Brett of Bruceton checks out at Bruceton’s new Dollar General Store facility Friday afternoon with assistance from store employee Taylor Seiler.

The new Dollar General Store facility in Bruceton opened for business today (Friday, Oct. 13), and as of Friday afternoon, business was looking pretty good as locals crowded in to pick up what they need and check out the new building at 30544 Broad Street.

At 10,640 square feet, the new facility is considerably larger than the old store, offering more shopping space and a wider selection of purchasable items.

“I love it,” said Bruceton resident Nelle Lowe, who made her first visit to the new store Friday afternoon with her friend and fellow Bruceton resident Shirley Arnold. “It’s great.”

There are currently six Dollar General Stores in operation in Carroll County with a seventh currently under construction on Highway 70 in the Cedar Grove area.
