Approximately 775 people visited the 41 exhibitors at the 2019 Chamber Business Expo at the Carroll County Civic Center on April 11, according to Brad Hurley, President of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce.

“This year’s Expo had many changes, and we were pleased with the results,” said Hurley. “Our speaker, Katie Gambill, had a great motivational message to the leaders in attendance. We are now looking at ways to make the 2020 Expo even better.”

The 41 exhibitors that advertised their products were spread out over the civic center with no petitions in between. Visitors did not have to gain initials at each booth to be eligible for door prizes from the chamber. They were registered for the prizes when they entered the civic center.

The winners of the chamber prizes were Tobias Shaw, Betty Meggs, Rasha Higdon, Rakayla Humphreys and Joel Washburn.

Exhibitors gave away pens, fresh baked cookies, popcorn and other novelty items during the 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Expo.

The Carroll County Relay for Life team had steak sandwiches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Huntingdon High School students Katie Simpson and Angel Crocker were among the many students who visited the Expo.

They both agreed it was well worth their time as well as for other students to visit the exhibits and learn about the many services that are offered in Carroll County.

Angel said she was impressed with what Northwest Tennessee Economic Development Council does to help people.

“It was a good way to let people know that a community can get help if they need it,” she said.

Katie said she stopped by The Beating Hearts exhibit.

“I learned that Beating Hearts helps women who have unplanned pregnancies through the entire process,” she said.
